Finally, I get it!!! After years of taking yoga as part of physical fitness I get how much more a yoga practice is. Not only is Yoga nourishing the body, it is deeply nourishing to the soul.
Over 50 years of a life of "keeping of with the Joneses" in Charlotte, NC my family decided to move to beautiful, peaceful Blue Ridge. Soon after I had the great fortune to stumble into the sweetest, most sincere yoga studio you can imagine. Through the teachers at Yoga and Wellness of Blue Ridge I learned about the 8 limbs of Yoga and grew to appreciate the practice beyond the mat. In 2020 I jumped into my first Yoga Teachers Training with Amanda Dilbeck and never looked back. Fascinated with the deeper aspects of Yoga, I continued teachers classes and expect I will remain a student for years to come. I enjoy teaching flow classes with a fun approach to alignment with sprinkling of Yoga philosophy and breath work. Yin classes are also a favorite practice of mine with deep tissue release and longer holds for a quieter, more personal experience for each yogi.
Everyday is a new adventure in Yoga for me and I sincerely hope it will be for you. Just be present in the moment, breath and smile.

My yoga journey started when I needed something new in my life. It started as a way to find movement and exercise, with the more mental aspects eluding me. Then one fateful day i experienced that sweet shavassana. The kind where the world is quiet, the thoughts grow still and disappear, and existence if for but a moment feels so simple and easy. A few years would pass as I developed more of a practice, and once again it was time for something new in my life. As it happened there was a teacher training right as I needed it in my life. The chance to explore and learn came with an acceptance of self a new kind of happiness in my life. Now through teaching I hope to bring that kind of happiness to others that peace that quiet a chance to grow the heart and see what blossoms. I enjoy the creative side of yoga and often include poetry in classes my typically I like to teach things on the slower side gentle yin, restorative, mindful movement, but I also love the occasional flow, and all levels
Summer began her yoga journey over 20 years ago while serving as an active duty Air Force member. Initially, she came to the mat to seek relief from the physical demands of her service yet quickly discovered the mental and emotional benefits offered even more healing and peace. Summer incorporated yoga practice and philosophies into her daily life and began to share what she was learning with her fellow service members to support them through high pressure environments and to assist with recovery from post-traumatic stress. To deepen her understanding and learning, Summer completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) in 2020 under Brett Larkin’s Uplifted YTT. Following her retirement in 2021 after nearly 27 years of service with the United States Air Force, Summer also completed her 300-hour YTT with Bhakti Yogshala, Rishikesh, India. She understands first-hand the potential of yoga practice to heal, uplift, and empower individuals to optimize their health on all levels and is passionate about supporting others so they may connect with the same powerful benefits and live a vital and vibrant life. Summer and her family have put their roots down in Blue Ridge, Georgia and are grateful for the opportunity to grow and thrive with the beautiful community.
